Head Dance Coach
Jacque Genung-Koch joined GCU in 2012 and is in her 12th season as Head Coach of the GCU Dance Team. She has led the team to place nationally at UDA and USA College Nationals, where they have won seven titles in the D1 Jazz and Game Day categories. Most recently taking home 1st place in the Spirit Program Game Day Live category in Orlando, Florida.
Genung-Koch attended Arizona State University and was a four-year member, two-year squad leader, and senior team captain for the ASU Dance Team. During her time at ASU, she had the honor of performing in Super Bowl XXX, as well as three NCAA bowl games, including the Rose Bowl, Sun Bowl, and Oahu Bowl.
After earning her M.A.Ed in Dance Education, Genung-Koch has spent the past 24 years directing dance programs and coaching dance teams throughout the Phoenix area, including Arizona State University and several other performance and competitive dance programs in the valley. Additionally, she has developed dance education curriculum and instructed courses for college dance education programs at multiple local colleges and universities.
Recreationally, Genung-Koch is a 13-year member of the professional dance company "The Parking Lot Project," which performs in various festivals and concerts. She is married to Dr. Paul Koch, professor and director of bands at GCU, and they have one son, Paxton.
